FBM Education and extension program

Dairy Australia delivers Farm Business Management (FBM) education and extension programs in all dairying regions. Regional Development Programs (RDPs) manage the roll out of programs, working with education partners, private providers and other organisations.

The FBM program has four parts. These contain relevant modules designed to build dairy industry FBM capability. All modules are mapped to accredited training outcomes where possible and practical, ultimately providing farmers and service providers with the opportunity to work towards higher qualifications.

FBM extension modules are available for delivery with groups, including discussion groups. These will be rolled out in regions by RDPs, supported by funding to access providers who are well placed to deliver. Examples of extension modules available are:

  • Introduction to DairyBase
  • Introduction to the Standard Chart of Accounts
  • Break-even milk price
  • Setting up your farm office
